Target x Neiman Marcus x 24 CFDA Designers. Whoa.

July 12, 2012

Say what?! This has got to be the hottest collaboration to hit the fashion world.

Target and Neiman Marcus (two of my favorite retailers. wink.) are bringing us designs from 24 CFDA fashion designers just in time for the holiday season! It was just announced Tuesday morning and everyone I know is très excited. There are so many great details about this venture, I don’t even know where to begin. Each designer will create 1 to 3 items for the collection but don’t expect only apparel. There will be home goods, menswear, and accessories (for people and pets) with the idea of gifting for the holidays. The list of designers is too amazing…

Alice & Olivia, Diane Von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Carolina Herrera and Jason Wu are among the top-notch list of designers.

If you’re like me you can’t wait til the items hit stores. I don’t even have all the details on product (those will be revealed later) and I am ready for the December 1 launch date. The cool thing is (well, one of many…) is that the whole offering will be available at both all Neiman Marcus and Target locations! It’s a great way for customers of both stores to cross-shop, as well as invite new customers to come into each store. Prices start at $7.99 and go up to $499. There will be digital, social media, print, and television advertising so I can’t wait to see how they use the cute exclamation mark logo everywhere.

Check out the full story on the Neiman Marcus blog NM Daily and Fashionista.com.

Update: Style.com has posted a cool video featuring behind-the-scenes of the photo shoot and commentary from the designers.

25 Days of Christmas — Day 9.

December 9, 2011

I haven’t bought new sheets for my bed since I moved into my apartment about a year ago so…

Day 9. New bedding & sheets.

Now, my decor for my room is very specific. It’s all about orange. Orange bedding, orange curtains, orange pillows, even orange hangers in my closet. Basically orange everything. It’s been my favorite color since the 6th grade. That being said…I only use orange  bedding which isn’t so easy to find. But I was looking for dinnerware actually and found a few great options for orange sheets! How exciting right? Hopefully one of these options makes it under my tree.

Flecked Stripes Set. $248.

Nosegay Set. $198.

Circle 'Round Set in Mango. $248.

Mosaic Tile Duvet Cover. $79.99

25 Days of Christmas — Day 8.

December 8, 2011

So excited about this one! When one door closes, another opens right?

Swirl.com where I scored so many great deals on brands like American Apparel and Winter Kate, decided to merge with it’s parent company Daily Candy. As crushed as I was that my fave sale site was closing up shop, I actually clicked around on Daily Candy to see if I could still grab some fashion deals. The format is different and hard to shop for apparel, but I did find a deal that I would like to cash in on…

Day 8. A new pair of glasses.

I bought my current pair of glasses around freshman year of college, 5 years ago actually. So…I definitely think it’s time for a new pair. Interesting frames are so trendy right now and I am into it. I don’t wear glasses on a regular basis so why not get something funky? While clicking around on Daily Candy I found a deal for Lookmatic.

Lookmatic is a new site that offers cool frames for sunglasses and prescription eye wear. All glasses with prescription lenses are only $88. Such a steal for such cute frames. All sunglasses and frames without prescription lenses are just $58. They really have a great selection too with unique frames and colorful options. They also have a virtual try-on where you can upload or take a picture of yourself and see how the different frames would look on your face. It’s actually pretty neat to play around with and see how different styles look. Once you make a purchase shipping is free and returns are free too!

The best part is the deal on Daily Candy. Instead of $88 for frames, you can get them for $44 until December 19th. No way I can pass this up. I’ll post once my new frames come in!

Options I’m loving:

Abby in Tortoise.

Jesse in Red.

Marylin in Tortoise.

Which pair should I get?

25 Days of Christmas Wish List — Day 7.

December 7, 2011

Day 7. Studio Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones.

I saw the commercial [way cool no?] for these the other day and fell in love. I don’t wear headphones much but if I did I would definitely want these….in orange duh! It’s no question. Orange is my favorite color and these headphones are the perfect shade. The limited edition colors available are purple, blue, orange, pink, and green. I’ve heard nothing but awesome things about these headphones. They reduce external noise and provide great sound that emphasizes bass. I would love to have these for my next plane trip. These bad boys are not cheap retailing at $349. But Best Buy has them selling for $299 right now.

What color are you adding to your wish list?

25 Days of Christmas Wish List — Day 4.

December 4, 2011

It’s official! The Baylor Bears have been invited to the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio on December 29th.
So obviously…

Day 4. Tickets to the Alamo Bowl for Baylor vs. Washington.

…that’s my day 4 gift. The invitation was just announced a couple hours ago and I couldn’t be more proud of my alma mater! Robert Griffin III and the whole BU football team have had a great season with wins over Oklahoma and Texas. They were perfect at home and didn’t lose a game at good ol’ Floyd Casey Stadium. Baylor ended the season 9-3 and ranked 12th in the nation. Green and gold! Baylor nation! So glad the game is in San Antonio. Road trip anyone?!

25 Days of Christmas Wish List — Day 3.

December 3, 2011

Counting down the days until Christmas with an item from my wish list each day. This is actually really fun.

Day 3. Varsity Jacket.

Now, while I did get my letterman jacket in high school (actually two), I can’t wear it on a regular basis, or ever. Apparently it’s not cool to wear your HS letterman after high school, who knew? Anyways I still love the varsity jacket style. I love that it can be preppy or kind of funky depending on how you wear it. You could do it with a simple button down shirt and cuffed jeans or put it over a floral dress for a different spin. Also, it’s a good alternative to wearing the standard peacoat everyday in the cooler temps. Check out some chic options that I would love to add to my closet!

Forever 21 Letterman Jacket. $37.80
Get it here.

NISE Hooded Varsity Jacket. $190

Loving the dope back on this one.

Rag & Bone Charcoal Varsity Jacket. $599
On sale at Barney’s.

Gryphon Fleece Varsity Jacket. $322
Love this navy/ivory combo from Shopbop.

Joyrich Tagged Letterman Jacket. $272
This one and other colors found at KarmaLoop.com

Will you be adding a varsity or letterman jacket to your closet this winter? Maybe I’ll land one for Christmas.

25 Days of Christmas Wish List — Day 2.

December 2, 2011

Continuing with my Christmas wish list. Can’t believe it’s December 2nd. Only 24 days until Christmas though!

Here’s item number two on my list.

Day 2. a pair [or two] of TOMS.

I’ve had my eye on a TOMS for a little while now, just haven’t found a pair that really got me excited. Now I’ve found at least two pairs. Oops.

These are the Classic Scottish Houndstooth TOMS. This pair really stands out because of the print. I definitely blame my affinity for houndstooth on my mom. She gravitates towards any and everything in this print. I’ve grown to love it over the years too. I love that the houndstooth print is so big on this shoe! I actually saw these first in a boutique in San Francisco over the Thanksgiving weekend. These have been out since the summer so I may not have any luck finding these in my size.

Not to worry…I have a backup plan/a pair that I love even more….

Ahhh! Sequin Leopard TOMS. What more could a girl ask for? So in love with these. I really can’t resist leopard print these days. The sequins really jazz it up and give the shoe some texture. I’m all about the unusual so these are right up my alley. These are actually a Nordstrom exclusive so that’s kind of a cool deal. Get ’em here for $69.95.

TOMS are cool because with every pair you buy, the company donates a pair to a child in need.
‘One for One’ is their motto. Gotta love a good deal and a great cause.

Will these make your Christmas wish list?

25 Days of Christmas Wish List — Day 1.

December 1, 2011

I haven’t really thought about or made a Christmas list since high school. But over Thanksgiving break, my uncle asked the family what we wanted for Christmas. While no one really had an answer, I’ve been thinking about it and have come up with a list. Since there are 25 days until Christmas, I decided I would share one thing a day. This is just a wish list, I would really have to save my pennies to get most of this stuff. It’s fun to think about though!

In no particular order, here’s the first thing on my list…

Day 1. Hardside Luggage Set.

My brother already has a hardside suitcase and swears by it. Now I’m starting to see the benefits. I found some cute options!

Heys Hardside Vintage Spinner Luggage Set. $429
Comes in 30 inches, 26 inches, and a 21 inch carry-on size. We all know I love an eiffel towel motif!

I like this option too. Snow Leopard is a great neutral.

24 days to go. Tell me what is on your wish list!

Couture Christmas Card.

December 16, 2010

The Kardashian’s do Christmas cards like none other. Check out the 2010 edition.

This reality television family dresses to the nines for this year’s card. Even the newest edition baby Mason is decked out. This type of family photo may not be your thing, but for me, it’s all about the clothes. Stylist and family friend Monica Rose dished the details of what the family is wearing.

Kim Kardashian is wearing a curve-hugging Emilio Pucci dress. Family matriarch Kris is wearing a Pamela Roland gown. I like the belt detail that was added to the Monique Lhuillier dress that Khloe Kardashian-Odom is in. Kourtney switches it up a bit by wearing an Alexander McQueen tuxedo and Dolce & Gabbana shirt. She wanted to wear a suit like her son and baby daddy. Rob Kardashian is in an Ermenegildo Zegna suit plus bow tie while Bruce Jenner is wearing Armani. Baby Mason is my favorite of the group wearing a custom-made Astor & Black suit with a Pucci pocket square. How did he get to be so fresh at the age of one? No word on what NBA baller Mr. Lamar Odom is wearing though.

I’m loving the glam of the Kardashian family in this year’s card. To see extra pictures from the shoot and cards from years past, click below.
