Currently Crushing. Stella McCartney Julienne Dress.

April 17, 2013

Stella McCartney SS13 Look 2

Stella McCartney hit it out of the park with this one. I mean, is this not the most amazing dress? The whole thing is definitely my cup of tea. It’s orange, a little sexy, has mesh panels, an open back…what more can a girl ask for?

I need it.

The Julienne dress is Look 2 from the Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2013 runway collection. I love the whole styling of the look–the shoes are Stella’s Valerie Plexi Wedges in Nude. Even the makeup compliments the dress, the bright aqua liner on the lower lash line is a subtle, yet fun contrast to the orange of the dress.

Julienne is a satin micro-plisse with superfine pleats (you have to zoom to see). The colorblock contour reveals a sheer mesh panel.

Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing chose this dress as one of his top picks of the season. “I love Stella McCartney’s ORANGE dress from her runway in Paris so much, I made it my Spring Art of Fashion® pick!” — Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing

Shout out to New York Magazine’s online blog The Cut for posting this dress in their “To Consider” feature. Definitely considered a new favorite!

Haute Obession. Giuseppe Zanotti Crystal Studded No-heel Bootie.

July 23, 2012

I was dreading going through my inbox this morning when I stumbled upon this beauty. OMG. Is this not an amazing piece of work? I nearly fell out of my chair when I opened the email from Bergdorf Goodman that featured this amazing shoe. I’m not typically a fan of extreme spikes but these just work. The heel-less style with the multi-tone crystals and well-placed spikes come together for a killer design. These are just one of the heel-less offerings from the Fall/Winter 2013 collection from Giuseppe Zanotti.

Only two requirements for those who want to wear these shoes: a bad-ass outfit and good balance.

Get these bad boys at Neiman Marcus for $2950 and more show-stoppers at Bergdorf Goodman.

Target x Neiman Marcus x 24 CFDA Designers. Whoa.

July 12, 2012

Say what?! This has got to be the hottest collaboration to hit the fashion world.

Target and Neiman Marcus (two of my favorite retailers. wink.) are bringing us designs from 24 CFDA fashion designers just in time for the holiday season! It was just announced Tuesday morning and everyone I know is très excited. There are so many great details about this venture, I don’t even know where to begin. Each designer will create 1 to 3 items for the collection but don’t expect only apparel. There will be home goods, menswear, and accessories (for people and pets) with the idea of gifting for the holidays. The list of designers is too amazing…

Alice & Olivia, Diane Von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Carolina Herrera and Jason Wu are among the top-notch list of designers.

If you’re like me you can’t wait til the items hit stores. I don’t even have all the details on product (those will be revealed later) and I am ready for the December 1 launch date. The cool thing is (well, one of many…) is that the whole offering will be available at both all Neiman Marcus and Target locations! It’s a great way for customers of both stores to cross-shop, as well as invite new customers to come into each store. Prices start at $7.99 and go up to $499. There will be digital, social media, print, and television advertising so I can’t wait to see how they use the cute exclamation mark logo everywhere.

Check out the full story on the Neiman Marcus blog NM Daily and Fashionista.com.

Update: Style.com has posted a cool video featuring behind-the-scenes of the photo shoot and commentary from the designers.

Haute Event :: Rebecca Taylor at [Neiman Marcus].

March 16, 2011

group with Rebecca Taylor

Me with Rebecca Taylor, Leila, and Lindsey at the Neiman Marcus event.

After work, my two of my co-workers and I headed over to Neiman Marcus. The designer of her namesake line, Rebecca Taylor, was for an event to showcase the Spring 2011 line. There were drinks and hors d’oeuvres served. Models on podiums displayed the clothes and rotated looks every few minutes. Rebecca Taylor is the featured designer in the Contemporary Book, the catalog that ties in with The Current Event happening at Neiman Marcus stores and online this weekend. If you spend a certain amount you get a free Rebecca Taylor bag. [You want the bag, it’s super cute.]

We got to chat with Rebecca for a bit. She has the cutest accent, turns out she’s from New Zealand. She talked about being a working mom, juggling kids and a career. The trip from New York to Dallas would be a short one for her, as she was eager to get home to her two 4 year-olds and a 2 year-old. She sensed the mood was turning and changed the conversation ask us if we had plans for the night, encouraging us to go out and have fun. Overall she was really sweet and glad we could make the event.

I get to work with the Rebecca Taylor company on a daily basis so it was neat to meet the woman behind the line. Plus Neiman Marcus has some exclusive Rebecca Taylor styles that are hard to pass up. Check out more pictures from the event below.

About the designer:

Rebecca Taylor and her business partner Elizabeth (Becky) Bugdaycay established the line in 1996. By 2000, Taylor was nominated for the CFDA’s Perry Ellis Young Designer Award. The clothing is feminine and fun with creative prints that are very wearable. Rebecca Taylor has something for the girl who is ready for work and something for the girl who is ready for the weekend. The “snow” leopard print is a Rebecca Taylor signature and can be seen in pieces every season. Modern, urban, yet chic is the Rebecca Taylor way.
